The 2016 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl was an exciting game featuring some of the top talent from across the nation. The East won the game 28-13 but one of the offensive MVPs for the West squad was running back D’Vaughn Pennamon.
Pennamon was steady throughout the game entering halftime with 72 yards rushing adding 18 more in the third quarter off just two carries. By the end of the all-star game, the Manvel High School talent had rushed for a game-high 124 yards off 15 carries sporting an 8.2 yard per carry average.
The 5’10”, 220 pound, Class of 2016 talent rushed for 1,586 yards with 24 touchdowns and had 25 receptions for 195 yards with three additional scores as a senior. Pennamon committed to the Ole Miss Rebels on July 21, 2015 but has taken an official visit to Arkansas (Oct. 31) and to Cal (Dec. 11) and has three more official visits scheduled with Houston, Alabama, and Ole Miss before National Signing Day.
In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with him after the game getting Pennamon’s thoughts on the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl and the overall experience.
