The heat on the recruiting trail is kicking up a notch with Class of 2017 players taking unofficial visits across the country for Junior Days, spring practice drop-ins, and spring game festivities. Quarterback is always a must-get position that fills up quickly on recruiting boards but perhaps the second hardest thing for college coaches to reel in is that difference maker at tight end.

Per Rivals rankings, there are 10 Class of 2017 tight ends ranked as 4-star recruits. Of the 10 just three remain uncommitted; No. 6 Josh Falo (Sacramento, CA) and No. 9 Matt Dotson (Cincinnati, OH). As of Saturday Hunter Bryant (Sammamish, WA) was taken off the board when he verbally committed to Washington leaving Jimmy Jaggers as the lone Top 5 tight end in the nation left uncommitted.

Even before the rush was on for colleges to find that much needed dynamic playmaker at tight end, next level recruiters were in love with Jaggers versatility. The now 6’4”, 245 pound, talent is that rare player who can contribute in the run game lining up tight or can help exploit defenses in the passing game as a sure-handed target creating mismatches against linebackers and safeties.

Jaggers is in the neighborhood of 20 offers with teams like UCLA, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, Washington, USC, Utah, Washington State, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Louisville, Northwestern, and Arizona State, among others, all wanting the Roseville High School talent on their roster when the 2017 season begins. Jaggers has been on multiple unofficial visits taking trips to Washington and USC most recently.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I got a couple of minutes of time with Jaggers during his latest unofficial visit to UCLA while he was taking in the Bruins spring game. During the interview we covered his offseason workouts and updated his recruitment to date.
