Camren Campbell (6-1, 175) spent his junior year running routes and shutting down opposing 3M Florida teams for Bloomingdale High School. When the 2023 gridiron lights shine bright, the two-way athlete will showcase his skills with Tampa Bay Tech. After a successful spring season between the track and gridiron, offers have continued to come Campbell’s way, but teams taking their evaluation process slowly better step it up, Campbell has official visits set with ACC and Big Ten squads, and an SEC visit in the works.
This spring, Virginia, Louisville, Florida State, Ohio State, Miami, and Texas A&M were among the squads evaluating Campbell’s skills. The rapport with the Aggies is gaining momentum.
“The Texas A&M coaches and I are building a bond for sure,” Campbell said. “I’ve had brief conversations with others here and there, but A&M is tapping in.”
Campbell continued, “Getting to talk to coaches, and them showing interest, it was a really good spring.”
Ole Miss, Western Michigan, Tennessee-Martin, Miami-Ohio, Boston College, Middle Tennessee State, East Carolina, and Michigan State are among the offering teams. Two paid for visits are locked.
“I’ll be at Boston College June 2-4 and at Michigan State June 9-11 on official visits,” Campbell shared.
The Eagles are all-in on Campbell.
“They’ve been checking on me almost every day, and that is their entire staff,” Campbell stated. “Their head coach, coach (Jeff) Hafley, texted me today. They are showing real love, that is what I like that about them.”
Michigan State has been going after the under the radar talent as well.
“They’ve been doing the same things as Boston College,” Campbell said. “They have been straight forward, and they have been keeping it real. I am ready to meet them.”
There is another Power Five contender in the mix for an official.
“Ole Miss, I am trying to get there,” Campbell shared.
The Rebels have been recruiting Campbell and his family successfully.
“They’ve talked to me and my family,” Campbell stated. “My family really likes the Ole Miss DB coach (Wes Neighbors III). With his past, him getting people to the league, they feel he can develop me.”
