Arizona Wildcats Take DT Markell Utsey out of Little Rock Parkview
Written by Ryan Wright
A weekend visit to Tucson for defensive tackle Markell Utsey turned into an offer and a commitment by Tuesday. The Little Rock Parkview tight end took to Twitter on Tuesday announcing his commitment posting, “Blessed to say I am Committed to the University Of Arizona #BearDown.”
Utsey is part of a great recruiting run for the Wildcats that have included 11 commitments in the month of July. The pull started with Summit High School defensive end Jabari Waston of Fontana, California along with six other Californians, running back Tyliek Raynor of Philadelphia, safety Gavin Robertson of Washington, offensive guard Michael Eletise of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Utsey from Arkansas.
Utsey is the front line teammate of Kenyon Jackson who earlier this week committed to Illinois. Before committing to Arizona the 6’4”, 295 pound, defensive tackle did not have any other reported Division-I offers but schools showing interest included Baylor, North Carolina, Memphis, Louisiana Tech and in-state powers Arkansas and Arkansas State.
