The Razorbacks added their second commit to their 2018 recruiting class on Monday when Texas linebacker Bumper Pool committed to the Hogs.
Pool jumped on the recruiting map during his sophomore season helping Lovejoy High School to an 8-4 mark in 2015. The Leopards were led by their 6-2, 215 pound, linebacker on defense with 68 stops, nine tackles for a loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery through stats posted on the team’s first six games of the season. 2016 stats have not been released, but Pool is back at it lining up at middle linebacker as a hard-nosed run stopper.
The Razorbacks hosted Pool on an unofficial over the weekend for the Hogs 31-10 victory against the Florida Gators. On Monday, Pool posted his announcement on Twitter writing, “I’m proud to announce I will be fulfilling my childhood dream and committing to play football for the University of Arkansas. #WoooPigSooie.”
Pool picked the Hogs over offers from Michigan, Baylor, SMU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, USC, TCU, Maryland, LSU, Arizona, and Alabama.
The Hogs 2018 class is off to a great start with two four-star recruits. Pool joins Greenwood, Arkansas, quarterback Connor Noland on the Hogs’ list. Noland committed on July 20.
