Oklahoma, Notre Dame, LSU, and Mississippi State, a lot of teams were after Brian Huff. Through the four-star’s recruiting process, the Valley View (Ark.) 2024 prospect was able to narrow down his focus to four programs taking official visits with Arkansas, Missouri, UCF, and UNLV. One of those four teams will find out on Wednesday if they landed one of the best linebackers out of the Midsouth.
On July 1, Huff dropped his top schools list. That listing was updated previewing his commitment.
Arkansas: “I love Arkansas. I have a great relationship with all their coaches. Arkansas was my first offer; they were the first to believe in me. They took that chance on me. We’ve been building the relationship; it is close to home.”
Missouri: “Missouri and I have a really great relationship. We talk every day; text, calls, facetime, we are always communicating. I think I’d have a great chance of coming in and playing early. I think their system fits me well.”
UCF: “Coach (Erine) Sims, their linebackers coach, I love him. He is so cool. He played 10 years in the league; I think he played in the Super Bowl. It would be awesome to play for him. During my visit, I enjoyed it; it felt like family there. With the players, we all bonded. I felt like I was on the team, they treated me like a teammate.”
UNLV: “Their coaching staff, they are from Arkansas. I have always liked them, that is why they are one of my top schools. Coach (Mike) Scherer (DC/LB) and coach (Barry) Odom, I’ve known them for a long time; they offered me while at Arkansas. They offered and believed in me. UNLV is a great school and program. They are on the come up, I think they will be good.”
Asked what will separate the one school from the others come Wednesday, Huff replied, “The relationship I have with that school, how I felt on my visit; did it feel like home, can I see myself there, and can I see myself potentially living there after everything is done?”
Huff will make his announcement on Wednesday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. CT.
