Arkansas Razorbacks’ 2015 Hype Video is a Perfect Reminder that “It’s Coming”
Written by Ryan Wright
The theme to the Arkansas Razorbacks’ 2015 hype video is clear and distinctive, overcoming unfinished business to win SEC championships. The opening highlight on the hype video is a reminder of how the Hogs came up short in their bid to knock off No. 7 Alabama a year ago. Brandon Allen threw a pick with 2:00 minutes left in the fourth quarter nullifying Arkansas’ chances of beating the Crimson Tide falling 14-13.
The audio overdub is of head coach Bret Bielema, voice shaken but determined, reminding his players and Razorback Nation “It’s coming.”
The Razorbacks finished the 2014 erasing back-to-back losing seasons with a 7-6 record. The highlights of the season included a 49-28 win at Texas Tech, a 17-0 home win over then No. 17 LSU, a 30-0 win over No. 8 Ole Miss the following week, and a season ending dominating performance against the Texas Longhorns in the Texas bowl winning 31-7.
The lowlights include being tied or holding a lead in the second half of five games before picking up a disappointing loss. Arkansas was tied 21-all with No. 6 Auburn at halftime before losing 45-21 in Week 1. In Game 5, the Hogs were up 28-14 against No. 6 Texas A&M then gave up 21 unanswered points losing 35-28 in overtime. The following week (Oct. 11) the Razorbacks held a 13-7 lead on Alabama until an early fourth quarter Blake Sims to DeAndrew White touchdown pass flipped the score to 14-13.
The month of November started much the same way for Arkansas as the other losses to Top 10 teams, up 10-7 at halftime and then tied 10-all entering the fourth quarter to No. 1 Mississippi State before allowing a 70-yard Dak Prescott to Fred Ross pass eventually losing 17-10. The final disappointment was Game 12 of the regular season, a road game at No. 17 Missouri. The Razorbacks led 14-6 at halftime carrying the lead into the early part of the fourth quarter before surrendering 14 fourth quarter points to the Tigers dropping another heartbreaker 21-14.
The Hogs return nine starters on offense excluding recently injured senior running back Jonathan Williams but adding in 1,100-yard rusher Alex Collins. On defense the Hogs finished the 2014 season with the nation’s No. 10 ranked unit. Arkansas returns five starters on the defensive side of the ball along with a lot of experienced players ready to take the next step in their individual careers as a SEC West starter.
Arkansas opens the season on Sept. 5 against UTEP at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and get their first shot at revenge in Week 4 when they open SEC play against Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas (Sept. 26). Razorback Nation, “It’s coming!”
