The Arkansas Razorbacks got good news before the annual Red-White Game when Louisiana athlete Devion Warren verbally committed to the Hogs.
Running a read-option attack looking a lot like former Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall, Warren ran for 1,364 yards and passed for 1,024 passing yards with 27 total touchdowns during the 2015 season. The Ouachita Parish athlete is reportedly being recruited by the Hogs as a wide receiver.
Warren (5-10, 170) helped guide the Lions to a 6-4 record last season but the Monroe area talent has been widely overlooked by Division-I coaches. His only other reported offer is to Colorado State earning an offer from the Rams the same day the Razorbacks extended a scholarship on Feb. 4.
The commitment went public with a post on Twitter reading, āIām proud to say in [sic] verbally committed to the university of Arkansas.ā
Arkansas now has eight verbal commitments to their 2017 class with a heavy early lean on offense. Of the eight, seven are offensive players.
