Arkansas Razorbacks Place Six on Preseason All-SEC Teams

Written by Ryan Wright

The SEC released their preseason football teams on Friday placing six Arkansas Razorbacks among the best in the conference.

Ole Miss owned the first-team offensive selections with three (TE Evan Engram, OL Laremy Tunsil, and WR Laquon Treadwell) but the Razorbacks owned the second-team All-SEC squad placing four selections on the list; RB Jonathan Williams, TE Hunter Henry, OT Dan Skipper, and OT Denver Kirkland.

Arkansas rounded out the third-team selections placing RB Alex Collins and OG Sebastian Tretola on the list.

Of the six Razorbacks selected tight end Hunter Henry led the way with 97 votes followed by Dan Skipper with 95, and Denver Kirkland with 85.

Even though Arkansas posted the nation’s No. 10 defense under first-year defensive coordinator Robb Smith in 2014, no Razorback player was selected to the All-SEC list further contributing to head coach Bret Bielema’s playful comparison of his defense as “The Bad News Bears” or “The No Name Defense.”

Arkansas kicks off the 2015 season at home against UTEP on Sept. 5.
