Auburn stops trend, flips massive OT Brodarious Hamm away from Tennessee Volunteers
Written by Ryan Wright
When Auburn has landed a verbal commitment to their 2016 recruiting class the pledge to head to The Plains has not been as strong as oak. The Tigers have suffered through the decommitment of three players in recent weeks losing defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, defensive lineman David Marshall, and 5-star wide receiver Nate Craig Myers.
Back in April Spalding High School offensive tackle Brodarious Hamm verbally committed to the University of Tennessee but on Monday flipped his school of choice to Auburn.
The 6’5”, 320 pound, offensive tackle does not have an overwhelming amount of offers but the programs that have extended a potential scholarship are all highly competitive programs. Hamm has reported offers from Alabama, Georgia, Louisville, N.C. State, Central Florida, LSU, Missouri, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.
Hamm has reported unofficial visits to LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Auburn.
There is still hope Auburn can pull three of the recently decommitted players back into the fold. On June 2 David Marshall tweeted, “Camping in Bama didn’t make me de-commit from Auburn. Auburn still my number 1 school no matter what.”
Auburn now has 11 verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class and has landed six recruits in the month of June; Barrett, Miller, King, Newkirk, Manning, and Hamm.
