Big college camp schedule for South Carolina QB Josiah Oxendine, ECU this weekend
South Carolina’s Dillion High School always has next-level talent on the gridiron and has an elite 2026 quarterback on the rise in Josiah Oxendine (6-0, 185). Oxendine rolled during the 2022 season helping the Wildcats to a 13-1 record. For his efforts, seven D-I offers have been handed over already. The offer sheet is set to get some new company with interest building and college camps on the summer itinerary.
College teams are already pushing to get the Dillion prospect on campus.
“I have taken visits to South Carolina, that was the first, FSU next, then I went to Virginia Tech, and Pitt,” Oxendine said.
The time spent with the Gamecocks helped Oxendine develop a rapport with offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains.
“It went well,” Oxendine shared. “I met coach Loggains for the first time, their new OC. It was great meeting him. I watched practice. It was great watching their quarterbacks. They were working on routes and progressions. They were constantly working either taking mental or physical reps; they were just working. It was great to see that.”
Down in Tallahassee, Oxendine was able to bond with Seminoles’ QB coach Tony Tokarz.
“I got to spend time with coach Tokarz for two days,” Oxendine stated. “I watched them practice and they scrimmaged on Saturday. Jordan Travis didn’t play, but AJ Duffy and Brock Glenn did. They were working in the scrimmage, they looked pretty good. It was great to finally meeting coach Tokarz. That was a great visit.”
The trip to Blacksburg was also a success.
“It went pretty well,” Oxendine said. “I got to meet their offensive coordinator and QB coach, coach (Tyler) Bowen. They scrimmaged; it was good watching them. It was raining, so they went indoors; they had a great scrimmage.”
This Saturday, Oxendine will be in Greenville meeting up with the Pirates’ coaching staff.
“With ECU, their starting quarterback, Mason Garcia, works with my QB coach,” Oxendine shared. “There is a former player from my high school, their running back, Nemo Squire, up there too. They have some great guys up there. Their coaching staff, I know some of them, and they have connections with my coaches. I have never been there; I am excited to visit. I am excited to introduce myself to their coaches and build a connection with them.”
By the end of the summer, a lot more college scouts will be familiar with Oxendine and his abilities with plans to camp at Florida State, South Carolina, LSU, Tennessee, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Appalachian State.
Offering programs for Oxendine includes Akron, Appalachian State, Florida A&M, Georgia Southern, Marshall, Pitt, and Tennessee.
