With some emerging quarterbacks, college coaches can see the technique and arm strength dropping early offers on future projections. When it comes to Julian Lewis, the 2026 talent out of Georgia’s Carrollton High School already has a thick resume of work behind him. Lewis (6-1, 185) led the Trojans to a 14-1 record last fall drilling 7A defenses for 4,118 yards with 48 touchdowns. Next level programs have extended 36 offers and are now working on signing one of the best in class.
Running a run-pass option offense, Lewis spoke about his spring workouts preparing for the fall schedule.
“I am trying to get bigger, that is my whole thing,” Lewis said. “I haven’t worked too much on the football side.”
On the mental part of the game, Lewis credits Carrollton head coach Joey King for his growth.
“I spend so much time with coach Joey King, there is no one better to learn from,” Lewis stated.
Holding so many offers, the sidelines during the Trojans’ practices will be a star-studded event. When the coaches have gotten one-on-one time with Lewis, they all cover similar ground talking about his abilities.
“They all say the same things; they like what I did and at the level I did it for my age,” Lewis shared. “They like how I lead my team.”
Washington and Clemson are among the teams expected to be in Carrollton to watch Lewis this spring. Four other teams should be on campus as well.
“The teams reaching out the most are Texas, USC, LSU, and Alabama,” Lewis said.
The spring months have been filled taking visits across the country.
“This spring I have visited LSU, Bama, Georgia, USC, Texas, Texas A&M, and FSU,” Lewis stated.
The time in Baton Rouge allowed Lewis to hang with no ordinary Joes.
“It went well,” Lewis shared. “I was down there with my tight end (Caleb Odom). I got to talk to Joe Burrow down there, that was a main thing I was looking forward to. That was cool. I got to spend a lot of time with coach Joe Sloan (QB). I got to see how he teaches. You can see how he develops his quarterbacks mentally.”
The trip to Tuscaloosa allowed Lewis to start up another important relationship in his recruiting process.
“It went well,” Lewis stated. “That was my first-time meeting coach (Tommy) Rees (OC/QB). We are developing that relationship like I had with coach Bill O’Brien. You never know if he will be there by the time I come out, but we are developing that relationship.”
Staying in-state, Lewis got to know another new SEC offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in Athens.
“The Georgia visit went well,” Lewis said. “I talked to coach Mike Bobo and coach Montgomery (VanGorder – QC). I like how they break down practice. They have a good QB room.”
The next round of visits will take Lewis to premier Big Ten teams.
“I am trying to get to Ohio State and Penn State,” Lewis shared. “I want to go up north to see the Big Ten schools.”
Lewis shared his interest in the Buckeyes, “I have a good relationship with coach (Corey) Dennis (QB). He came down to see me last year. It is not hard to see the talent they bring in; they have the best couple receivers in every class.”
Being one of the first to believe in Lewis is carrying a lot of weight getting him to Happy Valley.
“I have a good relationship with coach (Danny) O’Brien (OA),” Lewis said. “Penn State was one of the first schools to start recruiting me. They were the second to offer me. It will be a big thing for me to get out there.”
Lewis plans to camp this summer with a couple of colleges, but a schedule has not been set yet.
