The groundwork for a big junior season was laid down fall of 2024 with Lake Nola (Orlando) for Cole Emanuel. The developing receiver got more touches within the Lions’ offense putting experience with athletic ability and determination. When the Friday night lights come on this fall, Emanuel (5-9, 165) will have a strong bond with the gunslinger in the pocket, older brother Carter Emanuel.
After posting an 11-reception, 242-yard, 4-TD sophomore season, Cole will join forces with Carter at Florida powerhouse Edgewater.
Asked about the offense with the Lions in 2024, Emanuel shared, “We were running a four-wide receiver offense. We were balanced but with a quick game. I was running lots of outs, slants, and hitches. I got most of my yards on the YAC (yards after the catch).”
Emanuel added, “I was putting myself in different places. My freshman year I got a lot of motions and plays behind the line, and this year I started evolving and going down the field.”
The receiver skills are always improving.
“I have great run after the catch, I have great hands, and really good ball tracking,” Emanuel stated. “I run really solid routes.”
The family dynamic will help move the ball down field this fall.
“I’m working on my chemistry with my brother,” Emanuel said. “I just transferred over to go play with him. We will have a really good connection. I am also working on getting my size up too.”
UCF, USF, and West Virginia are among the programs showing interest in the 2027 talent.
Teams got him on campus for game-day visits during the 2024 college football season.
“I visited Clemson,” Emanuel shared. “That was one of my favorites. I’ve been to UF (Florida), Miami, and UCF.”
Asked what he has learned on the visits to the various top programs, Emanuel replied, “How the coaches treat their players and about the environment. They have great environments, and something I would love to be in. Just being able to play football on Saturdays in front of big crowds, that is something I really want to do.”
A trip to visit Pitt may be in the cards in the coming weeks for Emanuel.
