Cal Flips Stanford 4-Star CB Commit Nygel Edmonds

The Cal Golden Bears have quietly put together a solid class filled with great talent from top to bottom. The movement going on in Berkeley under Sonny Dykes can no longer be denied. One recruit seeing the change, Nygel Edmonds, flipped his April commitment to Stanford on Tuesday joining the impressive Cal 2016 recruiting class.
Edmonds was one of the more highly recruited cornerbacks in the 2016 class pushing 30 offers. Some of the top programs seeking his skillset at the college level included Clemson, Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State among others.
Cal has put a heavy emphasis on defending the pass in their 2016 recruiting class with five defensive backs committed. Putting pressure on the quarterback is at a premium for the staff with three defensive ends also committed. If Cal takes a full class of 25 recruits, the only glaring position of need left to fill is at linebacker. The only linebacker committed to the class is Houston product Cameron Goode.
