Cal Lands Area 2017 Bishop O’Dowd CB Je’Quari Godfrey

Recruiting efforts for the Golden Bears have started to pay off in recent weeks with the most recent addition to the 2017 class being Oakland cornerback Je’Quari Godfrey-Baggett on Saturday.

Godfrey-Baggett was a key contributor for Bishop O’Dowd High School in 2015 coming up with at least 20 tackles and two tackles for a loss while breaking up three passes and intercepting four (through eight games).

Teams extending scholarship offers to the big cover corner, listed at 6’2”, 185, included New Mexico, Colorado State, San Jose State, UNLV, Fresno State, Wyoming, Utah State, Nevada, Boise State, and Hawaii.

Godfrey made his decision public on Twitter posting:

The Golden Bears now have five verbal commitments to their 2017 class with three of the five coming in the month of May. Michael Onyemaobi and Jeremiah Hawkins are the other May commitments.
