Cal pulls in-state OL Francisco Perez away from Texas Tech

On June 21 3-star offensive guard Francisco “Paco” Perez narrowed down his 10 offers to three leaving a tough decision between Texas Tech, Arizona State, and Cal. On Thursday the Baldwin Park High School standout decided to run with the Golden Bears.
Perez, 6’5”, 300 pounds, had been rumored to be leaning towards Cal for weeks but the pull of his first offer from the Red Raiders and from another Pac-12 program on the rise in Arizona State made the decision difficult.
The other offers Perez had on the table included Vanderbilt, Washington State, UNLV, San Diego State, Oregon State, Kansas State, and Colorado.
Cal may not get a lot of love from recruiting services but head coach Sonny Dykes and staff has put together a very solid recruiting class to date. In all the Golden Bears have 15 verbal commitments landing eight prospects over the last three weeks. On Wednesday Cal added Centennial High School’s speedy cover corner from Camryn Bynum.
