Calabasas Class of 2016 DB recruit talks National Signing Day
Q&A interview with Darrius “Vuko” Vukobradovich
In less than a year do everything defensive back Darrius “Vuko” Vukobradovich will be among the Class of 2016 recruits making a life decision on the first Wednesday in February with fan bases across the country interested in where he decides to go to school.
The 5’11”, 190-pounder, roams the Calabasas High School secondary primarily lining up at safety but sometimes plays corner and even outside linebacker. Early offers have already rolled in from Washington and Arizona State with Washington State, Boston College, Arizona, and UCLA showing heavy interest.
To give an insight on the recruiting process from an underclassman, Darrius took time to answer some questions about his thoughts from National Signing Day 2015.
Darrius, what impressed you the most about schools showing interest in you on NSD?
“What impressed me most was the talent that most schools got. The 2015 group was a great graduating class with a lot of talent.”
Were there any other schools that impressed you with the class that they signed in 2015? If so, which schools and why?
“Yes, USC impressed me. I felt like they had the No.1 class in my opinion. They had almost a top guy at every position, and you can’t get better than that.”
Did National Signing Day inspire you in anyway? If so, how and in what way?
“Yes it did. Just to see the different families embrace the moment, I want to make my family proud like they made theirs. Also, Iman Marshall’s commitment video was inspiring as well.”
Have you started recruiting other players currently uncommitted to join you in 2016? If so, who and how are you recruiting them? What’s your pitch?
“I haven’t really tried recruiting other people. I would love to play with my cousin Isaiah Hayes (CB Calabasas High School). We have been planning on going to the same school. He is also in the Class of 2016.”
