The phrase “no fear” in sports has stood the test of time and will continue to empower those who embody the idea. Out of Los Angeles’ St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower), Ashton Pannell is living up to the motivational theme. The 2026 gunslinger has taken his show on the road leaving the comforts of the west coast ripping it for coaches at Texas, TCU, LSU, Auburn, and Florida State coming home with new offers on the list.
The five-camp tour listed took place last week. One of the top camp performances was on The Plains.
“I threw lights out,” Pannell said. “My accuracy was on point. Every ball that I threw was on target. I was asked to go into a private workout, threw there and threw well. I made a lot of good relationships with Auburn. I got very good feedback from them, that was an experience.”
Pannell continued sharing the information given by the Tigers’ coaching staff, “Basically, they told me the good and the bad. They told me things I am doing well and things that I can work on. Some of the things I need to work on was my footwork and finding myself in what I want to do with my footwork, and how I want to move.”
For his last camp on the tour, Pannell was juiced to wing it in Tallahassee.
“That went great,” Pannell shared. “I went to the camp, my last camp, I was running on empty, but I went out there. On the first throw, I knew it was going to be a good day; it popped out of my hand. During the one-on-ones there, there wasn’t a throw I couldn’t throw. Everything was dropping – posts, comebacks, high or low it didn’t matter.”
Pannell got some time with FSU quarterbacks’ coach Tony Tokarz.
“I talked to coach Tokarz, he’s a really good guy,” Pannell said. “He really liked me. That was his first time seeing me throw, he knew about me from Bosco.”
While in Baton Rouge, Pannell dug the vibe with the Tigers.
“I loved it,” Pannell stated. “It was huge. The campus, their facilities, all of it gave me a good vibe. I liked being there. Their coaches were very welcoming. Looking around, all the stuff they showed us, we use the same verbiage at Bosco. LSU is definitely a place I could consider.”
The 2026 QB left TCU’s mega camp bumping his offer tally to five.
“At TCU’s mega camp, coach (Kenny) Dillingham gave me an offer from Arizona State and coach (Brennan) Marion (OC/QB) from UNLV gave me an offer,” Pannell shared. “All the coaches there said good things. I talked to Kansas there. At Florida State, Georgia Southern came up and offered me.”
On Tuesday, Pannell may hit Westwood to showcase his skills for the Bruins’ coaching staff.
