VENICE, Fla. – Venice High School (Fla.) is loading up for another state championship run thanks to incoming talents like Ryan Daly. Daly (6-1, 280) has traveled south down I-75 from IMG Academy (Bradenton) to be a fixture in the Indians’ defensive trenches. As the big man prepares for a standout senior season, college programs are identifying Daly as a next level talent.
A busy spring visit schedule for Daly turned into a show out summer college camp tour.
“I went to UVA (Virginia), Wake Forest, Iowa, USF (South Florida), FSU (Florida State), FAU (Florida Atlantic), Duke, and UNC (North Carolina),” Daly stated.
At Iowa, FAU, and FSU, Daly won all his one-on-one reps, but three other tour stops stood out more in the top performance category.
“I think I did really well at Duke and USF,” Daly said. “I got PWOs (preferred walk-on offers) after those camps. I did really well at Virginia; their coaches are still talking to me every week. Those were probably my top three camps.”
The showcases have teams clocking Daly going into the 2023 schedule.
“UNC, UVA, FAU, I talk to those schools on the weekly,” Daly shared.
A return to Durham is in the works.
“I think I will get up to Duke for the Clemson game (Sept. 4), that’s all I have confirmed at the moment.”
EMU, Saint Anselm, Shorter, and Presbyterian College have extended scholarship offers to Daly.
