Central Arkansas Flips Texas WR Donte Howell away from Air Force

Central Arkansas added a really nice dimension to their 2017 recruiting class on Tuesday when Dont’e Howell verbally committed to the Bears.
Howell has attracted attention to his play on the field beating Texas 6A competition up and down the field at wide receiver for North Mesquite High School. The Stallions use Howell on the outside in their spread offense as a possession receiver taking screens on the outside or running a fly pattern down the sideline burning corners in one-on-one coverage. Howell is credited with 15 receptions covering 223 yards with five touchdowns eight games into his senior year.
The 6-1, 192 pound, target committed to Air Force on June 27. UCA offered Howell on Sept. 27 gaining his commitment nearly a month later. Other teams to offer Howell included Army and Holy Cross.
