The Clemson Tigers dipped into the state of Tennessee on Sunday for a second time adding 4-star running back Cordarrian Richardson to their 2017 recruiting class.
The Tigers had a big draw for their Junior Day over the weekend aiding in pulling Richardson out of the Memphis area. Richardson joined Tennessee Volunteers legacy Amari Rodgers, son of USC assistant coach Tee Martin, as a future member of the Clemson Tigers.
Richardson put in extra time on the field for Trezevant High School rushing for 2,390 yards with 18 touchdowns during his junior season on the way to 20-plus scholarship offers. The list of suitors seeking the talents of the 5’11”, 220 pound, back included Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Michigan.
With Richardson leading the way, Trezevant secured a Tennessee Class 2 state title beating Marion County 40-35 for the trophy.
Clemson has jumped out to a great start to their 2017 recruiting class with nine total commitments. Of the nine, six are rated as 5- and 4-star talents with Hunter Johnson being the top rated recruit so far in the class.
