Buffalo, UNC Charlotte, Hampden-Sydney, Limestone, and Syracuse are among the early teams wanting Brock Feinberg (6-1.5, 218) on their roster next year. Under a new scheme during the 2024 season at Wando High School (Mt. Pleasant, SC), the tight end/H-back and linebacker will give the long list of interested squads more film to review this fall.
Excitement is building for the Warriors’ upcoming season.
“We have a new coaching staff,” Feinberg said. “We got everything new; a new lifting coach, all is new. It is different, and I love it. It is helping the team a lot. We have game ready strength, not just weight room strength. We are strong football players. We have game strength and have improved so much. We have been working our butts off. We have this week off, but every day this summer we have been working, learning the playbook, and working in the weight room becoming a whole new team.”
The Class of 2025 prospect is seeing the personal physical changes thanks to the new coaching staff.
“For me personally, I would say my strength has gone up tremendously,” Feinberg shared. “I was at 225 (pounds) at 7 reps, a month later I’m at 225, 15 times. The new strength program, it is no joke. If you want it, you have to do this. The change made me have a better mindset; we can’t screw around anymore. If you want it that bad this is what you have to sacrifice. It has matured me.”
Feinberg made the rounds this summer at college camps showing off the improvements in his overall game.
“I attended camps at Buffalo, Syracuse, UNC Charlotte, Clemson, Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia Tech,” Feinberg stated. “I did the last three with my team, the rest were individual.”
Asked where he showcased his talents best, Feinberg was happy with all his camp performances.
“I would say, that is a tough one, I would say it depends… probably Buffalo,” Feinberg said. “I didn’t lose a single rep in one on ones, I got an interception, and I did amazing in the drills. That was probably my best. They were all really close; not one really stands out but picking one, I will pick Buffalo.”
Heading into his senior campaign, Feinberg listed out the teams showing interest, “Clemson, Minnesota, Akron, Toledo, Navy, Arkansas State, Wofford, Citadel, Elon, and North Greenville.”
College coaches are keeping Feinberg’s phone lit up.
“UNC Charlotte, Buffalo, Clemson, I hear a lot from them, we talk a lot, Georgia State and Coastal (Carolina),” Feinberg shared. “I hear from a bunch of schools.”
The trip to see the 49ers was one to remember.
“I went to UNC Charlotte; I got my offer on the visit,” Feinberg said. “I went to Buffalo; I already had the offer. I camped and visited there. Akron’s coach wants me to come by.”
Asked about picking up the offer from Biff Poggi and his staff, Feinberg replied, “It was awesome. The campus is amazing. The environment there, the coaches are amazing; they are caring people. UNC Charlotte is all that I could ask for and want to see in a school.”
After exhibition games in early August, the Warriors have the Charleston County Jamboree on Aug. 11 and travel to Lucy Beckham High School on Aug. 25 to officially kickoff their 2024 season.
