New Jersey teams watch out – Seton Hall Prep has a dynamic weapon in development. Out of West Orange, the Pirates are giving valuable varsity snaps this fall to 2027 QB Kahden Davis (6-0, 203). The rising talent is taking his lumps as he levels up but is growing by leaps and bounds with the exposure setting up for a future with a very high trajectory.
Davis spoke about the style of offense executed with the Pirates, “We run a Spread offense, but sometimes we are in a 10-personnel. We run a decent amount.”
Asked how he has adjusted his game this season taking on New Jersey varsity defenses, Davis replied, “The high school game is different. The biggest things are the speed and physicality of the game. I’m seeing the improvements going through my progressions. That is a big thing we cover in practice; I can see it in our games. My footwork has also improved.”
No matter the competition level, the ability to wing it on the line is something that sets Davis apart from the rest.
“My strengths are my ability to drive the ball into tight windows and my deep ball,” Davis said.
Davis’s name circulating around more than just the New Jersey high school gridirons, college coaches are paying attention.
“I’ve received game-day invites from Michigan, Syracuse, Boston College, Maryland, Rutgers, and Penn State,” Davis shared.
An in-state trip to Piscataway to see the Scarlet Knights is in the works.
ON THE FIELD
Davis has appeared in three games for the Pirates this season completing 12 passes for 205 yards with two touchdowns.
