Next level scouts unaware of Griffin Gisotti after his breakout junior year, they are now finding out what everyone else in the Sunshine State already knew – the kid can play. A do-all talent on offense, Gisotti (6-0, 180) was a big part of Venice High School’s run to the state championship game. The extra film taking on Florida’s best is bringing more recruiting attention Gisotti’s way.

Asked about the season produced for Venice on their way to a 12-3 record, Gisotti replied, “I progressed throughout the whole season, and rapidly. Coach Deuce, my position coach, he got me far. My releases, using my hands off the line, reading coverages, going over film; he has helped me tremendously. And so have all the coaches on the team. It was great to learn from them. They gave me great advice and have helped me so much this season.”

Locking horns against Lakeland for the trophy, the game was a shootout (60-48). Gisotti spoke about the experience, “That was a dream come true; playing 4S competition going against Lakeland. I train with some of those guys in the offseason. It was easy to read those guys on the field. Playing at FAMU (Florida A&M), they have a beautiful stadium. Everything was perfect. It was a dream come true. I am so happy we got that far this season.”

Holding five offers, more dialogue is happening with college coaches.

“Coaches say my film is explosive,” Gisotti stated. “They like that I can do a lot of different things and that I am a true athlete. I have learned the receiver position; I can play in the box, go on the outside, I can go deep, and make them miss. If the ball is up for grabs, I can go get it with my hand strength.”

On Dec. 14, an offer from South Florida was announced.

“When I was a freshman through my junior year, I would go to the “Bay Days” and their other recruiting events, it was honestly one of those things where I imaged myself playing there. I am blessed to get the offer. I thank my family, coaches, and everyone helping me to this spot. I worked my tail off to get here; I am very appreciative.”

With the Early Signing Period approaching, talks are heating up.

“I have a couple of schools dialing me up,” Gisotti said. “Valpo, Concord, a D-II school, and USF is pretty high on me. When I get back to training, and get some footage out, I should be set. Hopefully I will get some more opportunities my way.”

During college football’s regular season, Gisotti took a trio of visits.

“I went to the Florida Gators, I went down on the field there and I got to see everything; it was an experience,” Gisotti shared. “I went to USF’s game day; that was awesome. And I went to Stetson early in the season.”

Bulls’ fans may see Gisotti back in Tampa soon.

ON THE FIELD

Appearing in all 15 games for the Indians, Gisotti hauled in 30 passes for 526 yards with five touchdowns. He also toted the rock twice for 25 yards. Another area where the Class of 2024 prospect impacted the game was on special teams returning 12 kicks for 181 yards.

“I have been working my butt off for four years to get a shot, it is not over once I get to college, that is just the beginning,” Gisotti said. “Anything that comes my way, anything I can do, I will work to be the best I can be to get on the field.”

Playing for Cardinal Mooney a year ago, Gisotti was an All-State performer as a Utility Player with over 1,300 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns scored.
