Colorado State has been on a recruiting roll of late pulling three verbal commitments this week. The good news started with junior college wide receiver Demarre Kitt on Sunday and got a little bit better with offensive tackle Luis Lebron and wide receiver Kalem Reddix on Thursday.
Lebron heads to CSU as an under the radar talent capable of playing tackle or guard for the Rams. Listed at 6-5, 355 pounds, Lebron has been well tested against Florida talent playing for Sandalwood High School out of Jacksonville.
Rams’ fans found out about Lebron’s commitment with a post on Twitter reading, “So proud to be a D1 player! I knew that coming to Sandalwood and playing for Coach Geis would pay off! So thrilled to be able to be a RAM!!”
Lebron is the fourth Florida product to join the Rams’ class and the second Sandalwood player along with defensive tackle Sincere David.
Reddix, a one-time Southern Miss commit, picked CSU over offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, Middle Tennessee State, Jackson State, Southeastern Louisiana, Tulane, Alabama-Birmingham, and Troy.
Colleges became aware of Reddix after his all-around standout play for St. Martin High School. During his junior season he carried the ball twice for 42 yards with a score and led the Yellow Jackets with 44 receptions, 815 yards receiving along with 11 receiving touchdowns. Reddix also played some defense but helped showcase his playing making abilities further by returning 11 kickoffs for 203 yards.
Reddix has had a monster senior season leading his Ocean Springs squad with 76 receptions for 1,535 yards with 19 touchdowns against 6A Mississippi competition. The 6-0, 205 pound, talent posted a commitment statement on Twitter:
247Sports ranks CSU’s 2017 class No. 75 in the nation, No. 2 overall in the Mountain West Conference. CSU has been impressive securing commitments from players in nine different states thus far.
