Khyair Spain spent his junior season making Georgia defenses look silly pounding the rock out of the backfield for Parkview High School (Lilburn). A traditional power back with speed, try to hit Spain (5-9, 190) up high or down low, he’s breaking the tackle flipping the switch turning in another explosive play. Teams have handed over 15 offers to the 2024 talent ahead of a planned commitment at the end of July.

Four teams are making a push for Spain ahead of his upcoming announcement.

“Definitely JMU (James Madison), Troy, Memphis, and Indiana,” Spain said.

Three teams will get a last chance to impress before the three-star makes his final decision.

Georgia three-star RB Khyair Spain.

“I have not taken any recent visits, but I am supposed to go on some visit in July before I make my decision,” Spain shared. “I am supposed to visit James Madison, Troy, and Memphis, those are the three schools.”

Spain covered the four teams hitting up his phone.

James Madison: “I like their offense, and I like the way they run it. I like the environment there, I like their coaches, and they have been helping me out and helping my understanding of everything. JMU is a good school and not too far from home.”

Troy: “They are not far from home at all, and they won their conference last year by a lot. I like their campus; I have seen it, it is really nice.”

Memphis: “I like their uniforms, their offense, and the way they do things. I like their conference, and they run the ball a lot. Those are the main things for Memphis.”

Indiana: “They are far from home, but a good school in a top conference. I would get a lot of exposure there. I like the offense they run. Overall, Indiana is a good school.”

The one school will be decided by several factors.

“Definitely where the schools are, the game-day atmosphere, how the coaches help me and show interest in me, the offensive scheme, their inside-outside and power game, and how often they air out the ball,” Spain stated.

Spain’s first official visit will be to his next level fit for the opening home game of the season.

“I should be going on one during the season, that’s when they wanted me to come,” Spain said.

Georgia teams were lit up by Spain last fall for 2,383 yards on the ground off 273 carries with 11 touchdowns.
