Defensive Back Kiondre Thomas Commits to Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech continues to land great talent for their 2016 recruiting class. The Bulldogs are not only picking up commitments from Louisiana but they are also doing getting talented recruits from outside of the state.

On Monday night, Tech picked up a commitment from defensive back Kiondre Thomas who plays at Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Thomas has amazing speed and has clocked been at 4.46 in the 40-yard dash. The speedster has also been clocked at 4.34 and an impressive time of 4.29.

During his junior season at Northside, the 6’0” cornerback had 63 tackles, two forced fumbles and six interceptions, one in which he ran it back for a touchdown. Thomas also played a little offense where he had 107 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.  When he played wide receiver, Thomas had 244 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.

After his commitment in an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, Kiondre was asked what influenced him to commit on Monday. “I was thinking about it, I knew I wanted to commit for about a week.  I’m not sure why I picked today but it just felt right.”

When talking about how he felt the moment he verbally committed, Kiondre added “I was pretty excited.  Just to know where I am going to college after this next year.  Finally got that off of my chest.”

When he committed to Louisiana Tech, Thomas also had offers from Arkansas State, Tulsa, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, and Missouri State.

Thomas joins defensive back David Beasley from Pine Bluff as the only two 3-star athletes to commit to Louisiana Tech from the state of Arkansas.
