Elite available 2024 quarterbacks dwindling in a hurry

Some of the elite Power Five programs have verbally wrapped up their centerpiece in the 2024 class under center, but for the many who have not, the stockpile is quickly dwindling. The month of April is not even at the halfway point yet and we have already seen eight gunslingers choose a school. Per 247Sports’ position rankings, only three top 15 quarterbacks are still on the open market.
At the top of the class, all eyes are on Dylan Raiola. The five-star Arizona QB out of Pinnacle High School is a Nebraska legacy, his father Dominic Raiola played for the Cornhuskers from 1998-2000 earning All-American honors as a center. The two other heavy hitters in Raiola’s recruitment are USC and Georgia. Speculation has USC and Georgia out in front for Raiola.
Two other QBs out west will help dictate the recruiting landscape at the position, Mater Dei’s (CA) Elijah Brown and Corner Canyon’s (Utah) Isaac Wilson. Brown’s recruitment is still wide open but with a Pac-12 lean, especially after a recent visit to Stanford. For Wilson, his opportunities are far reaching but it is hard to see him going somewhere else other than BYU following in his brother Zach Wilson’s (Jets) footsteps.
Some of the other big names to watch going forward includes St. Frances Academy’s (MD) Michael Van Buren, Junipero Serra’s (CA) Maealiuaki Smith, Long Beach Poly’s (CA) Darius Curry, and IMG Academy’s (Fla.) Jayden Bradford.
An overlooked talent finally getting his due is Trever Jackson. The West Orange (Fla.) prospect has been drilling it this offseason in 7-on-7 tournaments and at high-end exposure camps. In late-March, Jackson dropped his top five listing Tulane, Indiana, Pitt, Appalachian State, and Florida Atlantic. But after earning an Elite 11 Finals invite earlier this month, Illinois, Marshall, Arkansas State, and Memphis have laid down offers.
