Over the last two seasons, Fayetteville High School has been one of the top football programs in the state of Arkansas. In 2014 the Bulldogs posted an 11-3 record making a run to the state title game and in 2015 head coach Daryl Patton has guided his squad to a 9-2 record with a first round 65-36 playoff win over West Memphis.

Through both seasons one constant has remained, the play under center. As a sophomore, Taylor Powell was given the keys to the Bulldogs offense racking up 2,513 yards with 20 touchdowns against eight interceptions. The 6’2”, 195 pound, headstrong leader has not disappointed during his junior campaign passing for 2,666 yards with 37 touchdowns and added five rushing touchdowns to his impressive tally. For the season Powell connected on 201-of-278 passes for a 72 completion percentage and a quarterback rating of 193.18.

Colleges like what they see in the Class of 2017 recruit with Arkansas State already extending an offer but many more scholarship offers are sure to come with teams like Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Louisiana Tech, Pitt, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Missouri, and Memphis among many more all showing interest.

Powell has released his regular season junior highlight reel showing off the grittiness, mobility, toughness, arm, and accuracy that one has to have to be a next level quarterback.
