Scripted, one would not believe it, but the reality is Tyron Moore (6-2, 215) is as equally dangerous with his arm as he is with his legs. The hidden gem prospect out of Florida’s Deland High School produced nearly the exact same amount of yards on the ground as he did through the air with all the numbers adding up to be impressive.
Operating in the Sunshine State’s highest classification, Moore worked teams over for 1,276 yards in the air producing 13 scores. When called upon or needed, Moore covered 1,267 yards on the ground punching the rock in nine times. College scouts will get to see Moore air it out even more this fall.
“Last year we ran a lot single wing, but this year we are putting a lot of play action,” Moore said. “We are putting in a Spread offense; we will be more of a Spread this year.”
To make the scoreboard light up in the new scheme, Moore has been fine-tuning his craft.
“I have mainly been working on my accuracy, my release, my footwork, and reading coverages; that is getting easier after watching a lot of film,” Moore stated. “I have been developing my mind. I am way better than last year. Now, I am more of a student of the game.
“I’ve also worked on being a better leader on the field. With my technique, I have been working on throwing more accurately on the run, throwing in the pocket around the rush, and practicing throwing in game situations.”
The Class of 2024 prospect has welcomed 12 offers thus far from teams like Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Pembroke, Stetson, Florida Memorial, and Keiser.
“I am receiving interest from Louisiana-Lafayette,” Moore shared. “I camped there and met their head coach (Michael Desormeaux). At the Mercer camp, I met Liberty’s QB coach (Willy Korn); they are looking at me hard. Liberty and Louisiana-Lafayette are the main schools showing interest, and I am very interested in them. Hopefully I will get those offers.”
More teams will get a chance to meet Moore and see more of him in action.
“I am going to Toledo, and I will probably go to UCF and Syracuse; they want me to visit,” Moore said. “I will probably go to Louisiana-Lafayette again; I really liked the school, their coaching staff, and the environment there.”
Camp performances have already been turned in at Mercer, South Alabama, and Lafayette, where he showed out.
“I did very well there (Lafayette),” Moore stated. “I had to wear a tracker; I was one of the few people to do that. Their head coach was very interested in me. He gave me his phone number and told me to stay in touch. They only offer two QBs at a time. He told me they normally offer later on in the season. I would be blessed to get an offer from them. I really like their offense.”
Upcoming camp stops for Moore may include Florida State and Florida Atlantic.
