No matter how prolific a given college football offense is with an elite gunslinger in the pocket, teams still need a hard-nosed tailback who can shorten the game and get the tough yards when needed. Out of Florida’s American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale), offensive coordinators have identified Byron Louis (6-0, 205) as that difference maker.
A Top 10 has been dropped, and the heat has turned up on the four-star’s recruitment with visits to his favorites in the new year.
On Dec. 20, 2023, Louis announced his top programs listing Miami, Penn State, Georgia, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, USC, Florida State, and Oklahoma.
Sunshine State teams have ratcheted up their recruiting pitches with Florida State and Miami hosting him in January along with an offer being extended from the Gators on Jan. 25.
After Georgia head coach Kirby Smart visited the Patriots’ campus, Louis took a weekend jaunt to see the Wisconsin Badgers.
