There are certain traits players have that pop on game film instantly separating themselves from their peer group. Watching Dayen Marouf-Araibi, the 2025 offensive lineman is one of those guys that stands out. Snap after snap, Marouf-Araibi (6-3.5, 280) sets the tone in the trenches for American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) seeking to punish the opposition. The grind on the line is bringing scholarship opportunities and heavy interest Marouf-Araibi’s way.
Holding offers from Akron and Florida Atlantic, interest is building.
“USF (South Florida), Coastal Carolina, Miami, a lot of others are showing interest,” Marouf-Araibi said. “Those schools, I am receiving the most interest from them.”
Plowing and planting defenders at left tackle for the Patriots, the 2023 season on the gridiron was detailed.
“I think the season is going great,” Marouf-Araibi stated. “We changed our mentality throughout the season. You hear a lot of people saying we are a young team, but we’ve all stepped up at our individual positions. Everything is coming together; we are ready to make a statement in the playoffs.”
The mindset Marouf-Araibi has when he steps foot on the field was explained, “My mentality when I take the field, it changes game by game, but I’d say it is to go out there and dominate. I want to make people wish they did not line up in front of me. My goal for when the game is over, not only did I help my team win but the other team will remember me and not want to line up against me next time.”
Marouf-Araibi continued talking about his play on the field, “I think my physicality is what I focused on the most over the offseason, that shows. The thing I missed last year was the weight, strength, and being aggressive. The thing most improved for me is my run game blocking, my punch, my step, my drive, my pulling, and zone blocking. I feel that my run game is most improved overall.”
Along the recruiting trail, teams are seeing the tackle sliding down at the next level.
“Most of the teams are recruiting me to play as an interior offensive lineman,” Marouf-Araibi stated. “Coaches have asked if I can snap. I am mostly being recruited as a guard and center.”
On his snapping ability, Marouf-Araibi shared, “Not perfectly, but I have been practicing them. My snaps, they are more consistent now. I will continue to work more on my snaps over the offseason.”
The versatility and talent has led to several game-day invites this fall.
“I have been to Miami twice, the Texas A&M and the Georgia Tech game, and I have been to USF and FAU,” Marouf-Araibi said. “Nebraska and UCF want to see me as well, we’ll see how we can make it work out this season.”
The Hurricanes’ staff impressed Marouf-Araibi.
“They were great visits,” Marouf-Araibi shared. “I had the opportunity to talk to multiple coaches; coach Dennis Smith (ex. dir.), Mike Rumph (player personnel), coach (Alex) Mirabal (OL), and others. They welcomed me.
“I saw what they have going on there. I took the time to watch their film from the A&M game, I saw so many good things. They (OL) were almost picture perfect on each play, not just one play or on one drive but throughout the game. I talked to coach Mirabal and coach Dennis Smith, they said they liked my film and will keep in touch. We’ll see how everything goes and how the future plays out.”
The Bulls made a lasting impact while Marouf-Araibi was in Tampa.
“That visit was great,” Marouf-Araibi stated. “I went for the Alabama game, they held up. That was a really good and close game. Their defense was amazing. No. 0 (Daquan Evans) was a playmaker. I talked to their coaches, they let me know how they recruit. I like the way they think. Like Miami, they are keeping in touch and watching how I develop throughout the season.”
Tickets are booked for at least one more fall visit.
“As of right now, I am scheduled to go on a game-day to Coastal Carolina next week for their game against James Madison,” Marouf-Araibi said. “I’ve been thinking about going to Akron; hopefully I will get a chance during the season or offseason to visit them.”
The Patriots are back on the field this Friday against North Broward Prep.
BEYOND THE INTERVIEW
“I’d like to give a special shoutout to my o-line, my d-line, and my whole team, coach (Travis) Spiva, my great coaching staff, and last but not least, my parents.”
