Since spring ball began in Florida, few have skyrocketed up recruiting boards the way Xavier Lherisse (5-10, 180) has. The Class of 2026 safety out of Melbourne’s Eau Gallie now holds 18 offers with some of the nation’s top college football programs already dropping their offers.

Freshman varsity snaps with the Commodores and offseason practices started the windfall of offers with Marshall kicking it off on May 2 followed by teams like Iowa State, Indiana, Texas A&M, UCF, LSU, Oregon, South Carolina, and Georgia among others. The camp season kickstarted a new round of offers with Oklahoma and Penn State joining the party.

Lherisse shared the feedback he is receiving from college coaches on his skills, “Most say they like how I am headhunting. They like that I am not scared to put my shoulder pads on someone, and they like how I am coming downhill so hard.”

Florida State got to see Lherisse move in person during their Elite Camp.

“It went well,” Lherisse stated. “I took pictures, did drills, and one-on-ones. I did well in the one-on-ones.”

The camp in Coral Cables impressed Lherisse.

“That was really good,” Lherisse said. “That was one of my favorite ones. I went through drills and learned a lot. There were so many kids, I did not get a lot of reps, but I did well. I talked to all the coaches; it was really cool.”

Lherisse continued covering time spent with Hurricanes’ secondary coach Jahmile Addae.

“At the Miami camp, coach Addae pulled me aside,” Lherisse shared. “He talked to me about watching my film and said he wanted to see how I move during their camp. He was there watching me through every drill.”

The summer months have already been busy for Lherisse between football workouts and camps, along with playing baseball. A turn back to the recruiting trail will happen before the month closes out with four visits set.

“Next week I am driving to Louisiana to visit LSU, then I am going to Alabama, Georgia, and FSU again,” Lherisse stated.

A lifelong fan of the Tigers, Lherisse is pumped to see Baton Rouge.

“I am super excited for that one,” Lherisse said. “Since I was little, I have loved LSU. I really liked Odell (Beckham Jr.) when he played at LSU. They just won baseball’s College World Series; that is a big deal.”

The influence of baseball will weigh into Lherisse’s decision when the time comes. Asked if he wants to be a two-sport student-athlete in college, he replied, “Yes, sir. I want to play both baseball and football.”

The Bulldogs’ offer was announced on May 31, Lherisse is still in awe of receiving that scholarship opportunity.

“Georgia, that is such a big deal,” Lherisse said. “I was so surprised when I got Georgia; I am still shocked. I am very excited to go up there to see what it is about.”

When the 2023 college football season kicks off, Lherisse has two game-day visits he’d like to take.

“I want to see FSU and Oregon,” Lherisse shared. “Those two schools I really want to go see.”

With more recruiting interest stirring from teams like Colorado and USC, Lherisse will give next level scouts film at other positions than just safety.

“I will be playing safety on defense, and I am trying to get reps at receiver and running back,” Lherisse stated. “I will be on punt return and wherever my coach puts me.”

The goal for his sophomore season is simple, “I just want to be the best I can be. I will train hard and work to be the best safety in Class of 2026.”
