College programs scouting 2026 Florida quarterback Carter Quinn (6-0, 180) are about to get a bigger sample size of his abilities. Quinn spun it and ran it for Naples High School during the 2023 season executing a Veer. This fall, Lely will utilize the three-offer talent’s arm and wheels in an all-out Spread attack.
Taking on 3S varsity competition as a sophomore, Quinn posted 286 rushing yards off 45 totes with five scores and threw for 104 yards with two touchdowns in 10 games played.
“Naples runs a veer offense,” Quinn stated. “We had two good running backs. They like getting the quarterback in the run game. We minimized throwing the ball last year.”
With the Trojans, Quinn will get more opportunities to showcase the arm.
“We run a Pistol with a lot of rollouts and four receivers,” Quinn said. “We will air it out at times, 30 or 40 times in a game, and we will run it. We will do a lot of everything.”
Quinn continued talking about Lely’s offense, “We run a lot of deep verts, posts, double moves, post-corners, and 16-yard comebacks; that is a big one you don’t see in high school too much. We run outs and screens; just about everything.”
Asked about his talents in the pocket, Quinn replied, “Being able to get out of the pocket, throwing on the run, the threat of running the ball, and the defense not knowing what I will do. My speed too.”
The offseason months are about preparing for the fall and upcoming camps.
“I am working on perfecting my craft and getting the fundamentals down so when I go to these camps, I will be fundamentally sound,” Quinn shared.
Preparing for these events, Quinn is working with QB trainers.
“I am working with coach Malik Rozier with QB Country; he played at Miami for four years and with the Dolphins,” Quinn stated. “I am also working with coach Ray Issac out of North Carolina.”
Scouts will get to see Quinn spin it alongside other top QBs in the area.
“I am going to the Rivals’ Miami camp, and I am going to the Elite 11,” Quinn stated.
Beyond the camps, the 7-on-7 circuit will draw even more attention Quinn’s way.
“I am playing with Delta 77,” Quinn said. “We are a 2026 all-star team. Julian Lewis and Chris Henry are on the team; a lot of five-stars. The team is all 2026s; we are going to Cali, New Orleans, Atlanta, and the OT7 tournament.”
On the recruiting trial, three teams have already laid down offers.
“Marshall, West Virginia, and Western Kentucky have offered,” Quinn stated.
More was provided on his first offer.
“West Virginia, they offered in December,” Quinn shared. “That was awesome. I was about to workout with my trainer when I got the “call me” text. I went to a room, they called. The next day I woke up to a call from Western Kentucky offer.”
Interest is building from other D-I programs.
“Wake Forest, Miami, Toledo, and a lot from FIU (Florida International),” Quinn said.
Game-day visits were taken to Miami and FIU. Quinn was asked about his time with the Hurricanes, “The visit was awesome. Coach (Shannon) Dawson, I like him a lot. He’s a good QB coach. I know a lot of guys there. They follow me. Coach (Mario) Cristobal, he follows me.”
More trips to collegiate campuses are in the works.
“I am going to all the schools I have offers from,” Quinn shared. “I am going back to FIU, Wake Forest, and Toledo. I will probably go to Tennessee again, and I will probably hit up ECU (East Carolina), Ball State, and Temple.”
