The Wildcats 2017 recruiting class expanded to 13 players on Thursday when Fort Lauderdale area cornerback Michael Nesbitt committed to Kentucky.
Nesbitt rose to national recruiting attention awing coaches with his amazing 4.4 speed displayed on both sides of the ball. The 6-0, 174 pound, talent shinned at cornerback with his ability to cover top receivers lining up against Florida 6A level competition. Nesbitt helped Boyd Anderson High School to a 9-2 mark in 2015 drawing in college coaches from across the country.
As the Cobras extended their season, more and more college coaches showed interest in the Lauderdale Lakes rising star. By the time Nesbitt committed to Kentucky he had 20-plus offers wit teams like LSU, Cal, Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, Pitt, Colorado, Maryland, Syracuse, and Washington extending offers.
With all the offers on the table, Nesbitt narrowed down his list to Kentucky, West Virginia, and Louisville in his Top 3. Nesbitt posted his decision on Twitter:
The Wildcats 2017 class has been a slow process picking up a recruit or two at a time. The summer months on the recruiting trail ended up being more about setting relationships than landing commits. Since June, Kentucky has landed just four commits; receivers Joshua Ali and Clevan Thomas and defensive backs Cedrick Dort and Nesbitt. The class is a nice mix of talent from six different states highlighted by four-star athlete prospects JaVonte Richardson and Tyrell Ajian.
