Tristen Sion is a rising star in the Sunshine State. The young defensive back just completed his sophomore season at Palm Beach Lakes High in West Palm Beach and is already drawing interest from big-time college programs all over the country. The 6’2″, 175-pound, defender has five offers so far including Baylor and Michigan State and is garnering interest from SEC schools like Alabama, LSU, and in-state power Florida State.
Sion has tremendous field vision and the ability to read offenses on the fly. He uses his speed, quickness, and athleticism to get to the ball carrier and his strength to deliver big hits all over the gridiron. His best 40-yard dash time is currently 4.6.
The Class of 2023 recruit is always working hard to better himself despite all the college interest. He has set goals for himself to be the best in his class and raise his GPA from 3.4 to 4.0.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Tristen to talk about his sophomore season and get an update on his recruiting process.

Tristen, how would you grade your individual performance during your sophomore season?
Honestly, I feel my Year 2 performance was good. Every game I did better and I still haven’t had a completed target on me.
What would you say was your best game and why?
I’ll say my best game personally was against Godby, just because they’re in a higher classification. Although other games I played were better than the Godby game, in that one I showed I’ll compete on any level.
What are your strengths on the football field?
My strengths on the football field are the ability to read the offense quickly and the ability to make to make great hits.
How do your skills fit into your team’s defensive scheme?
My skills fit this defense because I’m an adaptable player.
How would you describe what kind of player you are?
Hard-working, I do whatever the team needs.
Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Tyrann Mathieu, he’s been my favorite player since he was at LSU.

What are your goals for the offseason?
I want to get bigger, faster, and stronger but really I’m working hard to be the best in my class. I want to be ranked No. 1.
What is your GPA?
3.4, but I’m aiming for a 4.0.
How many college offers do you have?
Right now I have five offers from Baylor, Colorado, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee State, and Michigan State.
Are there any other schools showing interest that haven’t offered you yet?
Alabama, Florida State, Penn State, Indiana, Stanford, Arizona State, and LSU.
Do you have a favorite quote or Bible verse?
