Florida Football: Interview with Cardinal Gibbons All-County RB Kamari Moulton

Junior running back Kamari Moulton has exploded onto the scene in 2021 as the rising star. The playmaker has over 650 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games helping the Chiefs reach the 4A state quarterfinals and is not ready for his junior campaign to come to an end.

The 5’10”, 190-pound, running back has great field vision and speed to quickly find holes and outrun defenders. Moulton has good athleticism and footwork.

This Class of 2023 prospect currently has one college offer from Syracuse and is also drawing interest from several other notable college programs.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Kamari to talk about his junior season and get an update on his recruiting process.

Interview

Kamari, what are your thoughts on your junior season?

I think my junior season has been my breakout year. I think my name is starting to get out there and I feel that I’ve gotten tremendously better than I was last year.

What has been your memorable moment thus far?

My memorable moment this year was that we went up to Venice, which was the No. 1 team in 8A, and we beat them after coming from a loss against Saint Thomas Aquinas.

How does your approach and preparations change due to playing in the playoffs?

Your perpetration for the playoff changes because in the playoffs it’s do or die so you can’t afford to mess up. That’s why you have to lock in during practice and not play around because if you mess up in the game you’re done.

What are your strengths on the football field?

My strengths on the football field are that I have good vision, a lot of power, and I run track, so I have speed. I also get a lot of yards after contact.

What kind of offense does your high school run?

An Air Raid offense.

How do your skills fit into this offense?

My skills fit with this school because it not only shows I can run but it also shows I can catch the ball out of the backfield.

What is your favorite thing about playing running back?

My favorite thing about playing running back is to be able to break a long run and be able to celebrate with your online.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?

Dalvin Cook.

What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?

4.50.

Are you receiving interest from any colleges?

Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and others.

Have you gone on any visits this fall?

No, sir. Not yet.

Do you have any college offers?

Syracuse.

Who is your role model and why?

My role model is my father, because he taught me how to be a good guy and how to raise a family the right way.

What are your goals for the rest of your high school career?

My goals for the rest of my high school career are to keep working to get to college but to also cherish these moments I have with my fellow teammates.

What is your GPA?

3.8.
