All the hard work on the field with Florida’s Clearwater High School has produced 32 offers off it for Jarvis Boatwright. The numerous phone calls, text messages, and visits have been whittled down with four programs out in front for the four-star safety. The next round of pairing down top schools will begin in June for Boatwright.
With Kentucky and Notre Dame showing various levels of interest, ACC, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC squads have made it to the Tornadoes’ campus to see Boatwright this offseason.
“Florida State, USC, Florida, UCF – a bunch of schools have come by, but I have narrowed it down,” Boatwright said. “I don’t talk to every coach.”
Asked which schools he has narrowed down to, Boatwright replied, “USC, Florida State, South Carolina, and Tennessee.”
Boatwright gave details to what he likes about his four contending schools.
THE BREAKDOWN
USC: “I like USC because they offered me when I was injured (ACL). Coach (Alex) Grinch (DB) has come back five times to talk to me; we talk a lot. I talked with coach (Lincoln) Riley; I like him. USC is a cool school, and a school I am considering.”
Florida State: “Coach (Mike) Norvell and coach (Adam) Fuller (DC), I like them. They are communicative. We’ve continued to talk since my first visit. I am considering going there too.”
South Carolina: “Coach (Torrian) Gray (DB), and I talked to coach (Shane) Beamer on my first visit. Getting to know them felt good. Being around the recruits in my class when I was there felt good. It was cool being around those guys. It was a new scenery. I like how coach Gray coaches. South Carolina is another school I am considering.”
Tennessee: “Coach (Willie) Martinez (DB) and coach (Tim) Banks (DC) have been on me from the start. They have stayed in contact with me. I have visited there four times; I like the campus. Coach (Josh) Heupel texts me every week or every other week. There is good communication with them. I am considering going there also.”
Boatwright’s official visit dates: June 2-4 USC, South Carolina June 9-11, Tennessee June 16-18, and Florida State June 26-28.
Once all the visits are completed, Boatwright will take the month of July to make his decision.
“For my commitment, I am shooting for Aug. 11,” Boatwright shared.
Asked what will separate the school he commits to over the other three, Boatwright responded, “At this point, they all have physical therapy and my major in business; it’ll be that one thing. They are all good schools, and all are on the rise. I can’t complain with any of them.”
