Seeing Jason Zandamela in action is appreciating what he can do as a center creating gaping holes along the offensive line. Down blocking, pulling, or forming the pocket, the four-star is one of the nation’s best in the 2024 class at his position. Supporting the notion are 33 offers to elite programs across the country. The process for the Clearwater Academy International (Fla.) talent is still wide open, but his focus is narrowing.

Offseason visits were taken to USC, Oklahoma and Florida State. The time on each campus was covered.

Florida State: “It went well. I chopped it up with coach (Alex) Atkins (OC/OL), chilled, and I had a good time.”

Oklahoma: “It went great. It was phenomenal. I watched their spring game; I love their fanbase and the culture there. It was great being there.”

USC: “It went great. They have beautiful weather there, and the hospitality was great. I enjoyed being out there.”

Teams are making it to Clearwater to see Zandamela this spring.

“I know USC is coming on Tuesday, I think Ohio State is coming as well,” Zandamela stated. “Oklahoma is coming next week to look at me. Coach Atkins has already been here.”

Three official visits have been set.

“I have three official visits locked in, Oklahoma, FSU, and USC,” Zandamela shared. “I know I am heading to FSU June 23-25, heading to USC June 16-18, and to OU June 9-11.”

For one of the three to land Zandamela, he spoke about what is important to experience and/or learn on the visit.

“The overall culture and scheme,” Zandamela said. “I am not like a regular center; I am big on scheme. I use my athleticism to affect the whole play. The overall relationship with everyone is important, and whichever place feels like home of course.”

As for contenders on other possible official visits, Notre Dame has yet to offer but is showing a lot of interest. There’s another elite program that could get in the mix as well.

“I was talking to Georgia about taking an official, they have been showing a lot of interest,” Zandamela shared.

Asked what he’s liking about the Bulldogs, Zandamela quickly replied, “They are back-to-back national champs, and I have been talking to coach (Stacy) Searles (OL) a lot. I like them as people and as coaches.”
