Former 4-star Texas and Arizona QB transferring again
Three years ago Connor Brewer seemingly had the world on a string. The Chaparral High School star was heading off to play football for the University of Texas going into a position where he could challenge for early playing time under center. Coming out of high school he led his team to a 5A state championship during his senior season and was the starting quarterback for the West team during the UnderArmour All-American game.
After one year at Texas and two as a transfer to University of Arizona the former 4-star is now off to Northern Arizona.
On Thursday Brewer made the announcement on Instagram writing, “After these wild few years of college, I have officially decided that my last stop will be at Northern Arizona University. I will pursue my graduate degree and have two more years of football to play. I am excited to get on the field again and to finally show people what I am capable of.”
The 6’2”, 205 pound, signal caller appeared in two games for the Wildcats last year after finally being able to step foot on the field but never attempted a pass. He did tally one rushing attempt for 3-yards with that tote going for a score. But the writing was on the wall for Brewer after Anu Solomon had a breakout season passing for 3,793 with 28 touchdowns during the 2014 season. Jesse Scroggins III has entrenched himself as Solomon’s backup.
Brewer will have two years of eligibility remaining and can lace up his cleats immediately for the Lumberjacks.
