Former Oklahoma State QB Daxx Garman Eligible to Play Immediately for Maryland

Maryland head coach Rand Edsall got a small win heading into the 2015 college football season before stepping foot on the field. On Thursday transfer quarterback Daxx Garman received a waiver from the NCAA clearing him to play this season.
J.W. Walsh started the season opener for Oklahoma State but Garman played in nine games last season, starting in eight, taking over after Walsh suffered a foot injury. At the end of the season freshman Mason Rudolph ended the up-and-down play under center reaffirming his status as the Cowboys’ starter during spring practices.
Garman threw for 2,041 yards completing 152 of 277 passes with 12 scores against 12 picks. When OSU slipped into the heart of their Big 12 schedule in 2014, Garman’s numbers started to drop throwing at least one interception in seven consecutive games and threw two or more picks in five games.
Maryland lost 2,200 yard passer C.J. Brown to graduation leaving Caleb Rowe and inexperience Perry Hills under center. Garman enrolled at Maryland in May as a graduate transfer entering the school’s masters program. Garman gives the Terps experience and a capable passer in the pocket, should he win the starting job. The Carroll, Texas native has one-year to play one.
