Fun interview with Michigan LB “The Future” Daelin Hayes
Before “The Future” steps foot back on Michigan gridirons imposing his will as a stud linebacker and a freak athlete on offense, we drilled all things football with Daelin Hayes in an in-depth interview. The 6’4”, 245 pound, Skyline High School talent gave us the lowdown on his grueling offseason workouts and his commitment to the USC Trojans, but we wanted to know more.
In an ongoing Recruiting News Guru “getting to know you” question and answer series, we sat down with Hayes to find out a little bit more about the man in high demand off the field.

Daelin, what is your favorite movie?
“I don’t know. I liked the new Avengers. I’m going to go with Spiderman.”
Who is your favorite actor?
“Wow, I honestly I don’t know… Robert Downey Jr.”
Do you have a favorite TV show?
“I like the new Daredevil on Netflix. I like Family Guy too.”
Do you have a favorite book?
“Start With Why.” I have it right next to me. It’s a global best seller by Simon Sinek.”
What is your favorite type of music?
“I don’t have a favorite type of music. I listen to all types. It really depends on the mood. I like rock and gospel. I don’t like orchestra and country, I don’t vibe with that.”
Do you have a favorite musician?
“No not really.”
Do you have a favorite song?
“No.”
What music do you listen to getting hyped for a game or practice?
“Meek Mill.”
What hobbies do you have outside of football?
“I’m a movie fanatic. I go with my mom to see movies and my little brothers. My middle brother, he’s just like me. He reads a lot of super hero comics. Spiderman is my favorite. My little brother’s first word was Spiderman because of me. It’s funny now looking at him. I gave him all my old comic books. He’s still trying to read all of them.”
What is your favorite type of food?
“Pizza.”
Do you have a favorite game system?
“I don’t play a lot video games, when I do I’m an Xbox kind of guy.”
Which game is your favorite on Xbox?
“Madden.”
What is your favorite subject in school?
“Hard to say, Math comes the easiest to me. The one class I enjoy is my creative writing class. I’m graduating early so I can early enroll so I’ve double up on English classes. I wasn’t looking forward to it, thinking we were going to have to write poems and stuff like that but once I got in there the teacher was great. She’s inspired me to be better at English. I never really liked English like that. When I got in her class I liked it more and more.”
Who is your favorite all-time athlete?
“AP (Adrian Peterson, RB Minnesota Vikings) and LeBron (James, Cleveland Cavaliers).”
Which holiday is your favorite?
“Christmas.”
If you could be a superhero which superhero would you be?
“Easy, I’m Superman, for sure, hands down. He’s a well round, has super strength, super speed, and laser vision. That’s easy.”
Which professional sports team is your favorite?
“The Cavs right now. I’m not a team fan but an athlete fan.”
