Georgia 2025 four-star CB Shamar Arnoux covers Tennessee commitment
The Volunteers pulled off a recruiting coup on Friday landing four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux out of the state of Georgia. The Milton High School prospect was over the 20-offer mark with a top eight of Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. An April 1 visit to Knoxville helped Tennessee seal the deal on one of the nation’s top corners.
Arnoux shared how the early recruiting process went with the Volunteers.
“It was really good,” Arnoux said. “They saw [potential in me from the beginning, now a good relationship has been built.”
A lean towards Tennessee started to fully develop in March.
“Probably last month was when I started to lean towards Tennessee,” Arnoux stated. “I have been thinking about their program, their coaches, and that they have a No. 1 offense in the country.”
The complete package that the Volunteers’ program offers was the difference maker in Arnoux’s final decision.
“The love, the community, and the campus put them over the top,” Arnoux said. “The coaches show love, and I can see myself playing there as a freshman.”
Cornerbacks coach Willie Martinez was Arnoux’s lead recruiter helping bring him to the SEC East powerhouse.
“Our relationship is really good,” Arnoux shared. “He will call and check in on me – it is really good.”
Arnoux has been a silent commit for nearly a week.
“I committed Saturday night,” Arnoux said. “I committed to coach Martinez and confirmed it with coach Heupel. They were going crazy. They didn’t have a 2025 commitment yet. We were at coach Heupel’s house, they all started to get excited.”
In that big moment seeing a dream come true, Arnoux explained how he felt, “It was exciting and relieving. I was nervous to get it off my chest. Afterwards, it was a happy moment for me.”
