Holding all the offers, a greater focus on recruiting opportunities is coming Kamron Mikell’s (6-0, 187) way. The four-star receiver/cornerback out of Statesboro (Ga.) has been making the SEC rounds of late. Fresh off a visit to Georgia, Mikell updates his recruitment sharing one official visit has been set.
If a call or text comes in, chances are it is from an SEC program.
“Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt, those are the schools contacting me the most,” Mikell said.
Recent visits have been taken to South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Mikell covered all three.
South Carolina: “It was good. I went out to eat and watched practice. It was nice to see everything. I like watching practice on these visits; that was a plus.”
Tennessee: “It was good. It was a different scenery. That was my first time there; I was glad to see it. I’ve aways wanted to go there. I’ve wanted to go to a game there. It was fun watching practice. I didn’t know the stadium was that big.”
Georgia: “It was good. I sat in the meetings; that was the same with Tennessee. It was good to see how they ran it. I liked the intensity of it.”
Mikell continued sharing his conversations with coach Fran Brown (DB) and head coach Kirby Smart.
“Coach Brown was talking about how I would fit in there at corner and how they would help me for later on in life. Coach Smart, we had a great conversation talking about life, not too much about football.”
The next stop for Mikell is Colorado for the Buffaloes spring game.
“I am excited,” Mikell shared. “One, I have never been there before; it’ll be nice to see it. I get to watch how they would develop me with all the new players and new coaches there. With Coach Prime (Deion Sanders), I am wondering what it will look like.”
One official has been set, only the date is influx.
“I have one set right now to Georgia,” Mikell said. “It will either be May 20 or the first weekend in June. We are trying to figure it out. I am going both times, but we are trying to figure out which will be for an official.”
The rest of the paid for trips are still up for grabs, but there are some contenders.
“Kentucky, South Carolina, Bama, and a couple more schools,” Mikell said. “Those are the contenders, I will know which ones after my unofficial visits.”
