Georgia OLB Damon Wilson II Selects Villanova Water Polo Star Amelia Baca for Empowerment Challenge

SUPPORTING COLLEGIATE STUDENT-ATHLETES, WILSON HAS PARTNERED WITH AMELIA BACA TO LAUNCH THE NEWEST ADDITION TO NOMAD’S ELITE APPAREL LINE

VENICE, Florida, August 26, 2024 – Working with Nomad’s Elite Sports Performance, Damon Wilson II has launched a program to empower women’s collegiate student-athletes picking Villanova water polo star player Amelia Baca as his first spotlight performer. Generating Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for all players, classic and custom jerseys will be made available for fans starting with 2023 and 2024 MAAC All-Academic Team selection Amelia Baca.

Matriculating from Venice High School (Fla.), Baca made waves as a freshman with the Wildcats in 2022 scoring 13 points, 10 goals and three assists, in 35 games played. Surpassing expectations, Baca’s sophomore season was a showcase in versatility scoring 43 points, 26 goals and 17 assists, in just 30 games while moving up the program’s record book with 11 blocks, fifth most in single-season. During a 21-11 season, Villanova leaned on their do-all standout receiving 26 goals, 30 assists, 14 steals, and two blocks.

The hard work in the pool transfers over into the classroom where Baca has earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in Fall 2021, Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Spring 2024 and was selected MAAC All-Academic Team in 2023 and 2024.

With each jersey sold, Wilson will donate $10 to Baca and $10 to Venice High School Athletics.

Damon Wilson II

Damon Wilson finished his high school football career with Venice High School (Fla.) as a five-star recruit ranked in the Top 10 nationally. Signing with the Georgia, Wilson was an early enrollee working his way as a key backup outside linebacker in 2023 as a true freshman helping the Bulldogs to a 13-1 (8-0 SEC) record.
