KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A top schools list shared at the end of March has been put on hold for Trever Jackson. The West Orange High School (Winter Garden, Fla.) quarterback has blown up of late with his play on the field in 7-on-7 tournaments with 24K and back-to-back camp MVP honors at Rivals and the Elite 11. In the Elite 11 regional, Jackson was awarded a spot in the finals. The flurry of accolades over the last three weeks has pushed Jackson’s name on recruiting boards across the country.
Jackson dropped his top five on March 28 holding 13 offers. The national attention has brought additional offers from Illinois, Marshall, Arkansas State, Memphis, and Texas A&M.
The Florida talent shared how the last three weeks has gone on the recruiting trail, “It has been crazy, but it has been a blessing. Lately, there have been a lot of new schools reaching out like Texas A&M, North Carolina, Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Oregon, and Iowa. It has been a blessing.”
The new teams recruiting him are opening the possibility for more unofficial visits.
“I am trying to get to Penn State, Illinois, Texas A&M, and to North Carolina as well,” Jackson stated.
The growing rapport with offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Yurcich has Jackson ready to visit Happy Valley.
“Because of what coach Yurcich has been talking about with their offense, family, culture, and program,” Jackson shared. “It is a really good school for quarterbacks to develop. I want to get up there for sure.”
The offer dropped by the Aggies on Tuesday will help get Jackson to College Station. Jackson gave insight into his interest in the Aggies.
“Their high tempo offense from what their coach, coach (Bobby) Petrino (OC), was talking about with me, how they can use quarterbacks with their arm and their legs and in different ways,” Jackson said.
Recruiting ties from Central Florida are leading up to Chapel Hill.
“Chip Lindsey (OC/QB) was recruiting me at UCF,” Jackson stated. “When he went to North Carolina, he came back and hit me up again. He has started talking to me again and telling me everything that is going on there, and how beautiful the school is. I want to get up there for sure.”
Jackson confirmed all official visits have been put on hold.
The top five schools listed for Jackson were Pitt, Indiana, Tulane, Appalachian State, and Florida Atlantic.
