Conversations and text messages are great, but nothing beats the bond and rapport developed between player and college coach during in person interactions. Out of Wheaton (Ill.), after 2024 three-star quarterback Alessio Milivojevic (6-2.5, 210) had a big junior campaign, he is cashing in on the next level scholarship opportunities and building interest in the form of unofficial visits. A handful of trips have taken place this spring with next level scouts returning the favor once St. Franics High School begins their spring practices.

Milivojevic was busy on the gridiron during the 2022 season compiling 2,450 total yards with 36 scores posted on the big board running a spread attack. Milivojevic spoke about what he brings to the field for the Spartans.

“I’d say my No. 1 attribute is accuracy,” Milivojevic said. “Reading the field, knowing where I am going with the ball, getting it in there with my arm strength, going over my progressions are strengths to my game.”

Seven offers have been handed over with Ball State, Miami-Ohio, and Penn making contact with Milivojevic.

The teams making the most contact was shared, “I’d say the top three that are pushing heavy are Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, and Colgate. I just finished visiting Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green. I had a virtual visit with Colgate Monday night.”

Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Ball State, Miami-Ohio, North Dakota State, and Illinois are the teams that have hosted Milivojevic since the open period began in March. The time in Ypsilanti with the Eagles was covered.

“Oh, it was awesome,” Milivojevic shared. “I talked extensively with their coaches, especially with coach (Mike) Piatkowski (OC/QB) and head coach Chris Creighton. I watched practice, they were high energy and having fun. Coach Creighton was working with the receivers that day, he was into it. It was awesome.”

Heading over to the Eastern side of the Mid-American Conference bracket, Milivojevic spoke about his time with Bowling Green.

“It was also another amazing visit,” Milivojevic said. “I met with coach (Max) Warner (OC/QB) and coach (Scot) Loeffler. I sat down with coach Warner in the meeting room. He went over the plays explaining the plays to me. He told me, as the quarterback you have to know what everyone is doing. It was good to see the offense and watch them practice.”

Unofficial visits are on hiatus for now as college scouts head to Wheaton to see Milivojevic throw.

“I think I am done taking visits for now unless something random pops up,” Milivojevic stated. “Schools are coming in for our 6:00 a.m. workouts. Coaches will be able to see me throw; this is a big period for my recruiting.”

Recruits get five official visits, Milivojevic may have one earmarked already.

“I’ve started looking at official visits a little,” Milivojevic shared. “Eastern Michigan, they said they’d love for me to take one, then I will decide my other four if I take that many.”

Milivojevic gave more details about his relationship with the Eagles that is trending towards a paid for visit.

“Our relationship is really good,” Milivojevic said. “I had never met them; it was my first time meeting them this last week. We have talked a lot. Coach Piatkowski and I have talked at least seven times. Coach Creighton was the coach who offered me. Knowing he offered me, and their staff likes me. The other day, I got 15 texts from 15 different Eastern Michigan coaches, that shows they really like me and want me to go to their school.”

In the classroom, Milivojevic also shines carrying a 4.32 cumulative GPA with a 26 scored on his ACT.
