The 2022 season on the field for Kingston Tisdell laid the foundation for great things to come. Tisdell (6-1, 190) navigated through the schedule slinging the rock for Birmingham High School (Lake Balboa, Calif.) working his way to three-star recruiting status. After performing at college camps over the summer, Tisdell has raised his profile on recruiting boards with a next-level crowd ready to see him in action this fall.
Taking on West Valley competition, Tisdell executes an offense tailormade for eye catching stats.
“We are passing more this year,” Tisdell stated. “We have guys on both sides of the ball, guys who can make plays, and a powerhouse at running back. This season we are more of a throwing-Air Raid offense.”
Working with QB coach Sam Fisher via Throw to Win, Tisdell is ready to showcase his evolving skills.
“As a quarterback, footwork was a big thing for me to work on, timing, timing with my receivers, tempo, off the drop, and things like that,” Tisdell said. “I am seeing the improvements within my mind. Getting those reps within the game, getting the tempo of high school ball, the tempo with my receivers, all of it has been a learning experience.”
Tisdell performed in front of coaches at Yale, Fordham, Cal, and UC-Davis over the summer with a visit in Tampa to see the Bulls.
“USF was pretty cool,” Tisdell shared. “They are doing a lot of construction. Their new facilities are coming in; USF will have a great campus to look at in a couple of years.”
The interested programs scouting Tisdell were listed, “Ole Miss, Pitt has been interested in me for a while, and UC-Berkeley.”
San Jose State has offered Tisdell, the Spartans are set to see Tisdell when Oregon State heads to CEFCU Stadium.
“I am going down to San Jose State for a game on Sept. 3; that should be a good time,” Tisdell said. “I am pretty excited. That should be a cool experience, it will be my first time.”
The Patriots posted a 9-5 record last season with their rising 2025 field general covering 1,905 yards in the air posting 18 touchdowns on the big board. Birmingham has already made noise in 2023 winning their opener 60-0 against Royal (Simi Valley).
