Got a skill position that needs to be filled? Antonio Robinson Jr. will do it, and do it with style. The 5-10, 170-pound, all-around-athlete took advantage of a shortened 2020 Florida high school football season running and hauling in the rock for Florida Christian while further showcasing the game changing skills at corner and on special teams. With sights set on playing in the secondary in college, 20 programs have dropped offers on the four-star talent in hopes of successfully landing a game changer in the 2023 recruiting class.
In a return to the RNG Lab, Robinson updates us on his college camp circuit and expanding recruiting options.
Interview
Antonio, given your athletic skills and all the positions played, how did you go about breaking down what all to work on this offseason?
By watching film and seeing my mistakes. If I scored a touchdown, I’d look to see how I could have scored the touchdown better. Or if I got a PBU, how could I have turned that into an interception? On a play at quarterback, did I have a bad read and should have given it to a running back. Same with my route running – inside or outside. I looked at all my weaknesses and I am making them better.
When the 2021 season begins, where all will we see you on the field?
Mainly at corner and safety, and a little bit at receiver.
What have you been working on with your skills on offense?
I am not as focused on offense, in college I want to play DB.
What have you been working on with your technique on defense?
Press and off-man, staying square and staying close.
Which exercises and/or drills have you been doing to add more speed and athleticism to your game?
Lunges, squats, more explosive exercises for my fast twitch muscles, and my core.
Have you posted a 40 time this spring or summer?
Yes, at Marshall I ran a 4.50.
Nice. Which national camps have you been to so far?
Rivals and Under Armour.
How did the Under Armour camp go?
It went well. I was named the MVP for DBs.
Very cool. What did you showcase of the skills there to take home MVP honors?
I had zero catches on me.
Impressive. Have you been to any college camps this summer?
Yes, I have been to 12 college camps.
I’m not asking you to list all of them, but what are some of the ones you competed at this summer?
Florida, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, West Virginia, Marshall, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.
Very cool. At the LSU camp, how did the one on ones go?
My first rep I had an interception. I had zero catches on me.
And at the Florida camp, what did you showcase there?
I have two interceptions and made it to the elite performers group.
Let’s close out talking about recruiting. Which programs are now showing interest?
UM (Miami), Penn State, Florida, and South Carolina.
How many offers do you have?
I have 20.

When you visited Alabama, what did you do during the visit?
They took us on a tour and I competed at the camp.
