Interview
Quenton, we last spoke at the beginning of your junior season then covering all that you had worked on to get ready for the 2019 run. How did your junior year go overall?
“I had more catches, less drops, and more touchdowns – it went well.”
Looking at your game film, where do you see the biggest improvements in your skills over your sophomore year?
“My routes and recognizing defenses, knowing where they will be.”
Your 18 yard per catch average was fantastic. What routes were you running this season?
“I was running slants, hitches, posts, and seams.”
How were defenses scheming against you?
“Defenses were double-teaming me. I had some on me and someone over the top.”
Which schools are showing recruiting interest but have not offered yet?
“LSU and Alabama are showing interest. They are sending me things.”
How many total offers do you have now?
“16.”
Barnes’ Offer Sheet: Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech
From the start of the season to now, have you taken any unofficial visits?
“Yes. I went to a Florida game, for their game against Florida State, and I went to Alabama for the LSU game.”
How did the Florida game go?
“It was good. I liked it. It was nice.”
And Alabama?
“It was nice. It was cool.”
Are there any planned trips coming up?
“On the 18th I am going to Tennessee and on the 25th I am going to Louisville.”
The camp season is starting up, are there any national camps you may attend?
“I am going to The Opening and to The Three-Stripe Camp.”
What is it with your game you want to improve upon before your senior year?
“Releases, footwork, and my routes. I want to get more physical blocking. I will work on my footwork, speed, route running, and blocking – those are the main things I will work on this offseason.”
Quenton, it was great catching up with you today. Good luck with the upcoming camps and visits.
“Thank you.”
